Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of the Speech Mic live speech translation platform (the "Service"). Please read them carefully. They contain important disclaimers and limitations of liability.

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.


1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is not intended for minors.


2. The Service

Speech Mic provides software for live speech capture, transcription, AI-assisted translation, text-to-speech playback, editing, and optional publication to public listen pages and collections.

The Service is not professional interpretation, court reporting, medical interpretation, certified translation, or accessibility (ADA/CART) services. Machine-generated output may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, or inappropriate for your setting. You are solely responsible for reviewing output before relying on it or presenting it to an audience.

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for live events, meetings, religious services, conferences, and similar purposes — including sharing public listen links with your audience.


5. Customer Content and your responsibilities

"Customer Content" means audio, transcripts, translations, edits, publication settings, and other data you submit or generate through the Service.

Public links may expose translations and related content to anyone who has the link. You control whether and when content is published. Listener activity may be logged as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or latency-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.


10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, speech recognition, AI translation, text-to-speech, payments, and other functions. We are not responsible for third-party products, outages, or policy changes outside our reasonable control.


11. Intellectual property

Speech Mic and its licensors own the Service, software, branding, and documentation. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.


12. Confidentiality

Each party will protect the other's non-public confidential information and use it only to perform under these Terms.


13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violation of these Terms, non-payment, legal compliance, or to protect the Service or others. Upon termination, your license ends. We may delete Customer Content subject to backup, billing, and legal retention requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Speech Mic will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) USD $100 or (b) the fees you paid to Speech Mic for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Speech Mic and its affiliates, officers, and employees from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your Customer Content, your public listen pages, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law (including failure to obtain required recording or publicity consents).


17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Except where prohibited, you agree that exclusive jurisdiction and venue for disputes will lie in the state and federal courts located in Texas, USA.


18. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
